Expert knowledge and continuous compliance to legal standards are required to ensure the quality, compliance and acceptance of veterinary clinical studies by regulatory authorities. This two-day workshop combines presentations, guided practical exercises and expert talks to provide those involved in the conduct of veterinary clinical studies (monitors, sponsors, scientists) with the necessary tools to plan, design, conduct, report and analyze their studies within the scope of VICH GL 9 (GCP) and other applicable guidelines. This workshop, focusing especially on study design and implementation of GCP requirements incl. but not limited on the responsibilities assigned to the sponsor, the investigator, and the monitor, data management and reporting, will also address requirements for obtaining test permits in Europe as well as to clinical supplies. It is unique in its kind proven by the continuous participation of industry since the first workshop was held in 2001, when VICH GCP was implemented. As our special guest, we welcome Dr. Gesine Hahn, head of the benefit-risk evaluation unit of the German agency BVL to share her view on efficacy testing and benefit-risk evaluation.
